A Delegation from the Organization Department of the CPC Pingdu Municipal Committee Visited TASA
On October 18, 2023, a delegation headed by MAN Guopeng, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Pingdu Municipal Committee, traveled to the West Coast New Area to investigate the industrial and talent ecological environment and to check the development process of the Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (TASA) Collaborative Innovation Center for Talents of the Yellow River Basin. The team also discussed enterprise cooperation plans with the Academy, with an aim to strengthen the strategic cooperation between Pingdu City and the West Coast New Area. The goal of these negotiations was to collaborate on advancing scientific and technological innovation and industrial development.
Government officials and business representatives attended the field visit and the symposium, including MAN Guopeng, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the CPC Pingdu Municipal Committee, YANG Chujia, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of Pingdu Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, ZONG Leilei, Head of the Talent Division of the Organization Department of the CPC Pingdu Municipal Committee and Director of the Business Division for Talent and Investment Introduction, SUN Yupeng, Staff Member of the Talent Division of the Organization Department of the CPC Pingdu Municipal Committee, LUO Sai, General Manager of Qingdao Desheng Machine Manufacture Co., Ltd., DAI Zhaoyin, General Manager of Qingdao Sannho Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., ZHANG Wei, General Manager of Qingdao Heritage Food Co., Ltd., SHAO Zechuan, General Manager of Qingdao Baisheng Medical and Health Products Co., Ltd., YANG Lin, Deputy General Manager of Qingdao Zhongye New Material Technology Co., Ltd., ZENG Jinxia, the R&D Engineer of Qingdao Haona Technology Research Institute, ZHAO Jian, Deputy Director of the Qingdao West Coast New Area Talent Recruitment Center, and LIU Yinghui, Head of the Policy Study Group of the Qingdao West Coast New Area Talent Recruitment Center. LIU Weidong, Secretary of Party Branch and Assistant to the Dean at TASA went together with them for the visit.
They first visited the Advanced Manufacturing and Design Prototype Laboratory, where they saw a number of functional areas, including the technical processing, CNC processing, and 3D printing sections. The laboratory head gave thorough introductions on the application and performance of various experimental tools and apparatus. The laboratory serves as a three-dimensional intelligent manufacturing integrated service platform for government agencies, businesses, and academic institutions, focusing on main business in the fields of product modeling materials and product design and development. It provides an interconnected and collaborative platform for scientific innovation and the emerging intelligent manufacturing industry and serves as an engine of industrial and technological advancement.
Then, they went to the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Application Innovation Laboratory, which is run by the Academy and Guohua (Qingdao) Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. Together, they learned about the laboratory's operation mechanism and development concept, and they also talked about the objectives and plans for putting the multi-dimensional university-enterprise cooperation pattern into practice in the new environment.
During the symposium, Deputy Director ZHAO Jian introduced the Collaborative Innovation Center for Talents of the Yellow River Basin. The center was created by the Academy and Qingdao West Coast New Area Talent Recruitment Center in order to fully implement the national strategy for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin and to jointly promote project implementation through close collaboration.
Secretary LIU Weidong stated that the Academy is fully utilizing university resources, including high-level talents and research and development results of integrated disciplines, and creating a team through multi-party cooperation to promote the development of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Talents of the Yellow River Basin. The Academy expects to cooperate with the Organization Department of the CPC Pingdu Municipal Committee in a win-win manner to provide technical support for local innovative enterprises and jointly create a platform based on project incubation, talent training, and collaborative innovation.
Representatives of enterprises also made presentations based on their current conditions. LUO Sai, General Manager of Qingdao Desheng Machine Manufacture Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction to the business of the company. He highlighted that according to the pattern of further development, the company plans to set up R&D centers and exhibition areas to attract more high-tech talents that meet the needs of the company and expand business sections. As a result, he hoped to achieve the goal of win-win cooperation with the Academy.
DAI Zhaoyin, General Manager of Qingdao Sannho Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., underlined the existing challenges the company encounters in university-enterprise cooperation. He said that in order to address these issues, it is imperative to aggressively encourage collaboration between the city's many regions, find cooperative solutions to challenges, and work together to collaboratively produce novel goods by pooling resources from enterprises and R&D institutions.
ZHANG Wei, General Manager of Qingdao Heritage Food Co., Ltd., recommended that businesses utilize all available academic resources to foster research and development ideas and broaden the product's application range. Additionally, he counseled making full use of expert knowledge to break the link of the original businesses and actively pursue the development of new ones.
SHAO Zechuan, General Manager of Qingdao Baisheng Medical and Health Products Co., Ltd., gave an overview of the business development strategy and the state of affairs. He plans to lead industrial innovation through technological advancements, actively engage in new industrial research and development, and actively pursue collaboration with the Academy to advance the innovation of medical materials, the thorough integration of industry development, and the achievement of breakthroughs in industrial technology innovation.
ZENG Jinxia, R&D Engineer of Qingdao Haona Technology Research Institute, stated that the company is trying to work with the Academy to create an innovation laboratory where resources can be shared across platforms, geographical limitations can be lifted, and the R&D base can be strengthened in an excellent setting.
YANG Lin, Deputy General Manager of Qingdao Zhongye New Material Technology Co., Ltd., believed that by working with the Academy, the company would be able to forge strong connections with academic resources and find solutions to production-related process issues. Additionally, by attracting talent through the partnership project, the company may enhance its manufacturing line and maximize the quality of its products.
Deputy Director MAN Guopeng concluded by expressing his profound gratitude to the business representatives and government officials. He emphasized that the occasion would present a unique chance for the growth of regional businesses. He thought that through the project of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Talents of the Yellow River Basin, the city's R&D platform programs could be advanced, and full cooperation between universities and enterprises could be achieved.
